Marie Slopes UG is currently seeking to recruit for the following positions.
POST: DIRECTOR, SOCIAL BUSINESS
(1) The Role
The Social Business Directorate creates organizational sustainability and revenue growth, as well as impact, through the reach of its quality reproductive healthcare products and services. this role is a member of the senior leadership team, which is collectively responsible for driving the organization towards growth, sustainability, and high levels of client satisfaction. The Social Business Director will provide leadership and guidance to the Directorate in order to achieve the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities.
Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement business plans and strategies for Commercial Sales, Centres, and Marie Slopes Ladies.
- Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of clinical services run on a cost recovery basis, determining the cost of services across the channels and locations to achieve an optimal balance between equity, affordability, and sustainability.
- Support excellent grants management and the ultimate success of all donor-funded activities by ensuring donor compliance and delivery of donor commitments.
- Manage the establishment and maintenance of effective clusters of clinical outlets, and collaborative relationships in support of the delivery of high-quality client care and referral mechanisms.
- Actively manage any third-party distributors to ensure ongoing reporting of financial and sales figures.
- Identify opportunities for products and sales, while ensuring product strategy is aligned to service delivery strategies.
- Manage systems for the prevention and detection of fraud and ensure internal controls are strictly adhered to.
- Work with the ESA Regional Social Marketing Manager and the MS legal team as applicable, and support on product registration and trademark registration.
- Develop and drive the implementation of an innovative and comprehensive marketing strategy to raise awareness of Marie Slopes' profile and to increase the impact of its services in accordance with the organizational and channel objectives as applicable.
- Utilize market research, consumer insights, and segmentation to implement effective and impactful integrated marketing strategies and detailed activation plans across service channels to increase engagement, achieve business targets, and build brand equity.
Skills & Experience
- Sound business development and planning skills
- Understanding major government policies and legislations in health
- Strong technical skills in business.
- Strong people development, leadership, and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal/communication (both oral and written) and time management skills.
Qualifications and Training (essential/desirable)
- Strong background and prior experience/ exposure to health business management. (essential)
- A Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related advanced degree relevant to the areas of public Health and Social Business
Experience
- At least five years' experience in Senior Management / Leadership of commercial health programs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage income-generating health programs
- Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members
- Strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills
- Experience and knowledge of the Ugandan health sector and community health service delivery
- Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues
- Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management
- Knowledge of Family Planning and PAC service delivery is an added advantage
- Proven experience managing diverse teams to deliver complex programming on time and under changing circumstances
- Strong networking skills and advocacy skills are required.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly around negotiation, influencing, and conflict management
