Dei BioPharma Ltd is a biotech and pharmaceutical research firm duly incorporated in Uganda, specializing in the development and manufacture of innovative medicines and vaccines. The development of our drugs and vaccines manufacturing facility was commissioned on July 6, 2021, by President Yoweri Museveni and Kenya President William Ruto (then Vice President). The state-of-the-art facility is situated in Matugga, Wakiso district, Uganda, and shall produce high-quality medicines across a wide range of therapeutic areas.
These include malaria, cancer, generics, beta-lactums, non betalactums, nutraceuticals, parentals, Heparin, APIs, Insulin, Glagine, vaccines and monocolonal antibodies. The manufacturing facility is gearing to produce one billion doses of mRNA vaccines guided by the most stringent global GMP including the US FDA, EU (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) standards.

Summary: Dei BioPharma Ltd., a Drugs and Vaccines Manufacturing Plant is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Quality Control Finished Products Analyst. The candidate will be responsible for testing of semifinished, finished products and stability samples in the Quality Control laboratory in an effective, efficient and compliant manner so as to fulfill marketing requirements. The work schedule for this position is: Full Time, 45 hours per week.

Start date: Candidate must begin working within a reasonable period.

Supervisory Position: No 

Duties:

  • To perform the chemical analysis of samples of Semi-Finished and Finished product in accordance with current approved standard test methods and specifications.
  • To perform the chemical analysis of stability samples kept at accelerated and long term conditions in accordance with current approved standard test methods. 
  • To prepare the stability protocols of samples of products 
  • To help out the team leader for the management of inventory of lab consumable, like reagents and HPLC columns, to facilitate smooth testing of samples of products. 
  • To perform analytical method validations. 
  • To prepare the Standard testing method and specifications for finished products. 
  • To prepare the standard operating procedures relevant to quality control systems.
  • To report monthly KPIs of finished product testing on prescribed format.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Analytical Chemistry. An advanced Degree (master’s) in a relevant field is an advantage but not required.

Experience:
2-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory, for the testing of finished products.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of quality control standards and regulatory requirements specific to the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry. Ability to apply regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance in all testing and documentation processes.

Evaluations: (This may be tested)
LANGUAGE: English level IV (Advanced knowledge)
Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Good Documentation Practices (GDP) with regulatory guidelines from agencies such as the FDA, EMA, or WHO.
