aBi's Background: The Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) was jointly founded by the Governments of Denmark & Uganda in 2010 as a social enterprise that channels development cooperation funding to agribusinesses & agricultural service providers. aBi aims at building a competitive, profitable & sustainable agriculture and agribusiness sector in support of equitable wealth creation in Uganda. The aBi consists of two companies; aBi Finance Ltd a company limited by shares and aBi Development Ltd (formerly aBi Trust) limited by guarantee.

aBi Finance Ltd: In 2021 aBi Finance transitioned from a company limited by guarantee to a company limited by shares in a bid to commercialize its operations and attract new investments. As an impact investor, aBi Finance Ltd provides sustainable financing solutions in Uganda's - financial services sector. Our mission revolves around enabling access to agribusiness and green finance, achieved through three key strategies: offering competitively priced liquidity through lines of credit (LoC), mitigating agribusiness finance risks using the agribusiness guarantee (AG), and bolstering the capabilities of financial services providers through Financial Services Development (FSD) and Business Development Services (BDS).

aBi Finance Ltd seeks to fill the positions below:

1. Head of People and Culture - (1 position)
The Head of the People and Culture is responsible for providing an efficient and effective platform of support services to aBi in the form of HR, administrative, and fleet services so that aBi is sufficiently resourced and supported to efficiently meet its strategic objectives. In addition, the Head P&C is responsible for ensuring that aBi recruits' staff of adequate skill levels and capacity and that there is a positive and engaged staff who are competitively remunerated, and who are developing their skills through training and demonstrating high levels of career motivation. Staff welfare, training, career development, and occupational health are vital aspects of the role.

2. Internal Auditor - (1 position)
The Internal Auditor is responsible for implementing internal audit assignments in line with the International Professional Practices Framework of Internal Audit (IPPF) and aBi Policies and Procedures. S/he leads the execution of each assignment in providing independent and objective assurance and consulting on the effectiveness of aBi's governance, risk management, and internal control processes to ensure effective and efficient operations, accuracy in financial reporting, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Policies and Procedures. A critical point is to provide assurance to the Board and Senior Management that what is reported to them may be trusted and is verified on the ground and that aBi operations are managed effectively and efficiently. In addition to ensure that there is a good system of internal controls in place to prevent fraud and mitigate other key organisational risks.
