Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CoRSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by several donors amongst which CBM (Christian Blind Mission) is a major one. CoRSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disabilities.
CoRSU seeks to employ professionally suitable and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions:
1. POSITION: MEDICAL OFFICER (1)
Department: Medical Directorate
Reports to Head of Department
Job Purpose
Overall, the post holder will appropriately admit, manage, discharge, and follow up on patients presenting to CoRSU hospital within the expectations and limits of knowledge and experience.
Duties & Responsibilities (refer to CoRSU website)
Academic & Professional Qualifications
• University degree in medicine & surgery (MBChB)
• Successful completion of internship
• Registered as a Medical Doctor with an Annual Practicing Licence (APL) from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners (UMDP).
• Special Interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery/ Orthopaedics will be an added advantage.
Work experience, knowledge & skills
• A minimum of two years’ work experience in a medical setting
• Punctual, Reliable & Good computer knowledge and skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills.
• Knowledge of more than one local language is desirable
