Job Overview


The Better Migration Management (BMM) programme is a cooperation between the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is financed by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund (EUTF) for Africa (Horn of Africa Window). The programme is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in partnership with six other European and International agencies and based on a comprehensive and holistic approach towards migration management. The overall objective is to improve migration management in the region, and in particular to address the trafficking in Humans (ToH) and the Smuggling of Migrants (SoM) within and from the Horn of Africa. Three regional offices ensure the timely and coordinated implementation in the region. They are located in Ethiopia (Addis Abeba), Sudan (Khatoum) and Kenya (Nairobi). The programme is steered and coordinated through its HQ office in Belgium (Brussels) For the support of a newly established national office in Uganda (Kampala) GIZ BMM is looking for a national expert with experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation and protection, as well as with strong implementation skills.
